Paul’s Favorite Actors
1.) Sam Rockwell (clearly the most underrated actor of this generation; just saw Gentleman Broncos and again…my life has been changed for the better)
2.) Walton Goggins (Amazing, amazing, amazing actor who has already won an Oscar for the short film The Accountant; played Shane Vendrell on The Shield))
3.) Jeremy Davies (Incredible ‘method’ actor who can be seen in countless films including Rescue Dawn and my personal favorite Helter Skelter in which he BECAME Charles Manson… truly inspiring actor))
4.) Jackie Earle Haley (Academy Award nominated actor- Little Children- who was also ‘Dukes’ in Semi-Pro, ‘Rorschach’ in Watchmen, AND your NEW Freddy Krueger for the upcoming and TOO ANTICIPATED A Nightmare On Elm Street )
5.) Timothy Olyphant (I don’t care what anyone says, Deadwood was AWESOME! This guy you love to hate and you love to love haha A Perfect Getaway was a sleeper hit in my opinion and he stole the film as he does in many, many, many films) )
ALSO: Aaron Eckhart (Towelhead), Nick Stahl (Bully, Disturbing Behavior, In the Bedroom, Carnivale), Guiseppe Andrews (Detroit Rock City, Cabin Fever 1&2), Mike Vogel (TCM, Open Graves, Cloverfield), Crispin Glover (‘McFly’ in Back to The Future, Wizard of Gore, Willard), Joaquin Phoenix (say what you will about him but the truth is the guy can ACT! his villainous ‘Commodus’ in Gladiator was a show stealer and his bizarre personality makes me a big fan even more)
Books Paul is Currently Reading:
- Goose and Tomtom by David Rabe (I have read this play probably close to 50 times and counting as David Rabe is clearly one of my favorite authors…and it’s very challenging for my acting class. I LOVE THIS PLAY)
- Welcome To The Moon and other plays by John Patrick Shanley (again, amazing author who writes so damn well haha and is also challenging)
- Savage in Limbo by John Patrick Shanley (another well written play I’m working on in class that I’ve enjoyed and is much lighter than the rest haha)
- The Pillowman by Martin McDonagh
- The Metamorphis and Other Stories by Franz Kafka
- Little Children by Tom Perrotta (yes, I’ve been reading this one for a while and taking my time in between all my other reads but I LOVE THIS BOOK)
- The Book of Understanding by Osho (if I personally have a Bible this is it! this is a book I ALWAYS have with me as I’ve read it and continue to read it over and over and over again… changed my life)
- Chris & Nancy: The True Story of the Benoit Murder-Suicide & Pro Wrestling’s COCKTAIL OF DEATH by Irvin Muchnick (if you want to get the gritty facts and NOT be lied to by county officials, Vince’s lawyers, or the WWE itself, PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR and READ THIS BOOK. I finished it yesterday morning and am starting over again…it’s that good…and THAT disturbing)
- Webster’s Pocket Dictionary (I believe in a firm grasp on vocabulary and have this with me EVERYWHERE I go)
- Mister Rogers’ Songbook by Fred Rogers (take a break from that ‘heady’ stuff and enjoy some simple to learn and enjoyable tunes)
- French Letters: Virginia’s War Tierra, Texas 1944 by Jack Woodville London (what kind of son would I be if I didn’t plug my Dad’s own book lol…can be ordered through Amazon. I’m so proud of him and this is the first in the trilogy!)
